"Starlit Morn"
Sometimes you think you have a good idea and some words for a song, and it just doesn't work for you at first. You struggle with it, and then put it aside for a while. This one started out in 2005, and it definitely needed work. In 2007 I made substantial revisions, and then did some additional tweaks in 2008. I still think it could get better, but this is where it is now.

Starlit Morn

A brilliant star broke through the darkness
Sheep were still while herdsmen wondered
As a miracle appeared on that morn' in Bethlehem

A child to Mary there was born
'Neath the watchful eye of Joseph\
And that birth gave each of us eternal life

While the gentle babe was sleeping
Wise men came and knelt in reverence
Bringing gifts and joyous blessings
To the radiant infant boy,

A hush then fell on all creation,
As the precious gift was given
Few would know in that brief moment
that the world had changed forever

As love would spread in wider circles
Bringing life to lives forsaken
And the angels sang on high that starlit morn'.

Love would spread in wider circles
Bringing life to lives forsaken
As the angels sang on high that starlit morn'.
